Opened in 2010 and recognized by the International Baccalaureate Organization as an IB Continuum School, Beacon School educates more than 1,500 students, from Early Childhood Education to High School.

We are seeking a dedicated Pedagogical Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will strongly commit to educational excellence, continuous development, and collaboration. This position is responsible for the IB curriculum, guiding teachers and students, and ensuring compliance with Beacon's pedagogical standards.

Responsabilidades e atribuições

Curriculum Implementation & Pedagogical Leadership

  • Ensure and lead the implementation of the school curriculum and pedagogical program for Year 6.
  • Oversee effective curriculum implementation and lead discussions with teachers on best practices using a critical thinking mindset.
  • Participate in curriculum reviews and update learning expectations under the guidance of consultants and Area Leaders.

Teacher Support, Development & Evaluation
  • Guide and provide support and feedback on teachers' weekly planning activities.
  • Address teachers' needs in classroom management, peer relationships, and student interactions aligned with the Teaching and Learning Rubric.
  • Appraise grade-level teachers, setting objectives tailored to their needs in collaboration with the Professional Development Area and Pedagogical Director.

Student Centricity & Wellbeing
  • Continuously strive for an individualized perspective on every child, supporting teachers in designing strategies to fulfill each student's potential.
  • Collaborate with the Student Wellbeing Center (SWBC) team to ensure students' unique needs are addressed.

Family Communication & Transition Support
  • Build strong partnerships with families by interacting promptly regarding student development and empowering the teaching team with best-practice communication skills—particularly during the primary-to-middle school transition in Year 6.

Teamwork, Operations & Professional Growth
  • Show responsiveness and resourcefulness when interacting with teachers and assistant coordinators to address daily issues, provide feedback, and exchange ideas.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, consultants, office staff, and leadership to make decisions and solve problems collectively.
  • Lead office hours meetings and professional development sessions to share knowledge, resources, and best practices that facilitate teaching, learning, and peer growth.

Requisitos e qualificações

  • Higher education degree.
  • Desirable post-graduate degree in Education or similar.
  • Experience in IB schools and deep knowledge of the IB curriculum and pedagogical program.
  • Desirable experience in Middle School / Primary-to-Middle School transition years.
  • Experience in leading and guiding teams of teachers.
  • Fluent English (C1 or C2 certification is a plus).
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of G Suite is a plus.
